For more than 20 years, Todd has successfully guided clients through highly volatile market events including the technology bubble of 2000, the September 11th terrorist attacks, and the Great Recession of 2008. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and a Certified Investment Management Analyst®, a certification he attained from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Todd began his career with Merrill Lynch in 1999, where he served on the firm’s Tulsa Board of Directors and Tulsa Charitable Giving Committee, and led the new advisor training program for two years. He was promoted to vice president – investments and was a member of both the President’s and Executive’s Club.
In 2009, Todd joined UBS Financial Services, where he attained the title of senior vice president – wealth management and was named a senior portfolio manager in the UBS portfolio management program. After working alongside his friend Rich Howard for 13 years at both Merrill Lynch and UBS, they embarked on the journey to establish Scissortail Wealth Management with the mission of providing an enhanced client experience. Todd’s focus at the firm involves acting as the chief investment officer and directing initiatives on investment and risk management strategy. In addition, he serves as the compliance liaison and oversees firm marketing.
Todd’s community involvement has included board member positions at Monte Cassino School, the OU club of Tulsa, and the Pet and Animal Welfare Society. He served on the finance committee for Asbury United Methodist Church and was a venue director for the Special Olympics State Games for 12 years.
Todd is a native Oklahoman, attended the University of Oklahoma on a full academic scholarship and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He and his wife, Makala, live in Tulsa with their three children, Aidan, Ruby and Kennedy, and are proud members of Cornerstone Church. Todd is a black belt in Taekwondo and an avid fly fisherman. He enjoys running to stay in shape and has completed eight marathons to date.
